I didn't know I could make that private!! BUT I'm not-- what's that saying "what you eat in private you show in public" or something like that and it's true, I made the choice to eat what i ate being fully aware of what it contained thanks to MFP, I didn't become morbid obese by eatting "clean" and I'm not perfect, I have my good days and my bad days.... It's the daily decisions that I make that makes the changes so no, I won't hide what I eat and I'd actually welcome advise like -don't eat that cause... Or try this instead...- that's how we learn, from trial and error... I think it's a very useful tool❤

I agree it is helpful to see what others are eating and helps me to get new ideas I wish you could see others Protein intake but that is not an option or is it ?

as far as I can tell you can't access friends' daily goal info (other that total calories) but I am so thankful for those of you that have chosen to share those aspect of your journey! I find food and food choices have become such a major aspect of my daily life that very few people can relate and some even think it's an eating disorder (many people view calorie counting as negative and can't begin to understand the depth of importance of nutrient goals post rny)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
