I'm not sure if I can phrase this so anyone wil understand. Lol! But I'm going to try. I'm 5 weeks post op. For the most part my insides should be "healed." I understand my internal anatomy was reconfigured and my physical stomach is smaller. But can/does anyone else 5 weeks out or more "feel" like their insides are odd or different, feel raw, etc? Like I said it's hard for me to explain. It's not like something feels "wrong" just not like it used to all the time. And if you understand my ramblings did/does it ever go away?

I started to feel that after a couple of weeks. I could literally take a drink of something and count to 30 and feel it hit my pouch. It was weird for sure. I don't really notice it anymore though.

My fiance told me to stop trying to explain how I was "reconfigured" because all he could think of was that movie "Human centipede" and it freaked him out. LOL

I'm two weeks out today and yes I know what you mean. I tried some thicker consistency food tonight and it got stuck. I now know for sure exactly where my pouch is because I coul feel it and feel my stomach eveytime it was moving.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
