Uniqueladybug 80 Posted July 11, 2012 Hello from TN! I am 33, 5'1" and weigh 215. I have been working towards this for over a year now. I had my final consult yesterday with Dr.Watson in Johnson City, TN. This whole time I have been preparing for the sleeve. I was informed that the sleeve wasn't a good option for me due to a hiatal hernia. I was kinda scared when I got the news. So now I have to have a different frame of mind. It's just hard when you've been expecting one thing and then everything changes. All I know is I'm ready! Just waiting for insurance approval now. This is a great site. I've been on vertical sleeve talk for a while. Looking forward to making some good friends on here!

Krystyneh 55 Posted July 12, 2012 Welcome I know how it feels to all of a sudden change course lol I was going for the lap band but where I'm going (Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH and I live in Vermont lol) they no longer do the lap band so it was either gastric bypass or the sleeve. Well my insurance doesn't cover the sleeve so I'm now going for gastric bypass. I got my approval Tuesday and I'm scheduled for surgery for Friday August 3rd

Now I'm glad I got it because I've heard many people say they lost 40lbs and then started gaining again after the sleeve - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/
