Feeling Awesome! But Have Some ?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

After having 2 1/2 weeks off work for surgery and recovery, I returned to work today:) I felt so good when everyone kept telling me I looked great! They complemented me on my appearance. " you look wonderful, your face looks thinner, your upper body frame also looks slimmer" I swear I loved the attention and comments! I am however a little tired mainly due to the early rise this morning.

Had a quick question: I am eating mostly Protein, pureed/soft meats, cheese(cottage or string cheese) sometimes soft fruit like peaches, etc... has anyone experienced Constipation?

IM not sure I am getting the proper protein levels in either. I got the ok to begin taking my Vitamins again. I am currently taking a Multivitamin Flinstones chewable... They recommended Vitamin b-12 for nerves, metabolism, energy....

What about hair? I have REALLY thin hair to begin with.... I dont want it to fall out due to insufficiency.Any suggestions?? GNC Hair, skin and Nail supplements>>???

I have my 1 month follow up appts with dietician and bariatrician nurse next week:) cANT BELIEVE IT WILL WE A MONTH ALREADY!

The Protein will probably do more to help minimize Hair loss than anything else you could take. Has anyone not had Constipation would probably be a better question - LOL! Milk of Magnesia is what my doctor recommended and it works. Be sure to get the flavored kind - the unflavored is really nasty stuff. There are other options as well. You can probably just call your doctor's office and they'll give you some ideas over the phone. It's miserable but it passes (no pun intended :-) pretty quickly.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
