Everyone responds to pain differently. Are you up and walking around? It really does help. It might be painful at first but walk a little bit at a time. Hope you feel better soon.

I had surgery on monday morning and now my pain is pretty much gone. The belly button area on me is sore especially when i cough but they repaired my hernia there. Other than that i do have to sleep only on my back on the side still hurts. My problem is after my little walks im exhausted to the point where i feel i need to sit and relax. Is this normal? I know i need to start doing things but its like i have no stamina.way worse now than even before surgery. Im chalking it up as im still healing. Anyone else have that issue?

It's weird I've had 2 c sections and gallbladder removed and never had pain like this! And yes walking lil bits at a time hurts. I also just had an hr long ride from the hospital that was bumpy that prolly had something to do with it too. This one just does not feel like its getting better like the others but everyone is saying give it a week. So we will see.

I had horrible pain too for at least two weeks hang in there it gets better I would just sit there in tears praying for God to help me as I hit the lortab bottle like it was Jack Daniels. As far as stamina your body is using a lot of energy to heal on very little calories I'm nearly 4 weeks out and I still get exhausted. Bet you can't wait for the insomnia to start! Cuz I can't sleep for shit!

Yeah sleeping is hard for me too. I have to take ambien. This was the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. It gets significantly better after the 2nd week. I also use a heating pad a lot.

I Am just over 2 weeks post op and at times still feel like I Am not motivated or have enough energy to exercise. I know that surgery is only a tool and that I also need to do my Part... I do walk everyday tho:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
