Jasmine Brior 0 Posted July 7, 2012 I was just wondering What I can do to prepare for the changes in all aspects of life when we are Post-op.. I have given up caffine smoking and pretty much everything I can think of what did you guys do pre-op to ensure success post-op? I am submitting to insurance monday afternoon! I know I will get approved just because I am 145 pounds over weight and I have about 9 co-morbitites! theres not a doubt in my surgeons eyes that I wont be approved ! they say my ins. takes 5-7 days to get back an answer and I will most likley be having surgery in 2 weeks and my emotions are already going a little crazy ! How did yall stay sane during the end of the pre op ? How do yall control your emotions post op ? What have yall bought that has made life easier post-op...I bought a juicer ,blender, baby dishes and silverware,a fine mesh strainer, and a 1 and 5 oz measuring cup....anything else I can add to help ?Any advice anyone can offer or t ips would be greatly appreciated as I want to be very successful I have the right mind set and determination
Beachbum 70 Posted July 8, 2012 First off - good luck!!! Sounds like you are mentally ready to go. My WLS center recommended walking/cardio so that you can be in good shape cardiovascular wise going into the surgery. I had a couple of "goodbye" meals too. Not toomany so as not to gain weight presurgery but enough to keep me satisfied. I have a body pillow I used during pregnancy which helped with sleeping. It will be here before you know it. I'm 2 weeks and 3 days post op and the time has flown by because I fill my days with nonfood things. If I obsess over food then it bothers me. You just have to think of those blended mini meals as fuel
