I love pickles. I get the baby gherkins because the skin is soft and I've never had a problem.

Pickles are my favorite! I take a pickle and put 1 slice of lunchmeat on it (turkey or chicken) and a cheese stick and roll it up and it is VERY filling! That way I get the pickle that I want with the Protein that I need. You can even put tuna (plain) and it still taste pretty good.

If you're far enough out, you might want to try canned tuna with diced sweet pickle and tablespoon of light miracle whip. I practically live on it! When you're far enough out, I like to dice some celery in it as well. Very tasty and very rich in protein!

All of that sounds great! I'm extremely frustrated....doesn't seem like I get full. Even though I watch my portion. I'm on my 4th wk post op. Weight is coming off extreeemely slow. I love 2 lbs, gain 1... Feels like I went through this for nothing...

Love pickle dogs! Take a piece of Lunchmeat (I use ham or corned beef), spread on fat free cream cheese, wrap it around a large whole pickle & then cut into slices. Yum!!!

Wow! Love all the ideas for pickles!!! I am going to try some of these new ones. I think I started eating tuna about 3-4 weeks out. I can only stomach the tuna in pouches not the can. If the smell bothers you, you may want to try rinsing it before eating it. I have to do that sometimes too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
