lotstolose 23 Posted July 6, 2012 This may be a little gross i apologize now. I have had my first couple ob so called bowel movements keep in mind no solid food for over a week now. When i went it was watery dark brown. It seemed to be a little thicker to thepoint it stayed on the bowl a little. I went again just now and the same. I dont have a fever. Bp is good heart rate is normal. Is this reminince of surgery i had on monday coming through. I started protien shakes two days ago also. Just not sure if i should get excited and go to the docs or is it normal.also any one else have problems getting on their sides to sleep. I have slept in the recliner since coming home. It is the only thing comfy. Sorry if i was long winded. Im just concerned.

The first couple of weeks were the toughest for me all around. Hang in there
DLCoggin 1,788 Posted July 6, 2012 As long as you're not seeing dark red or black there's nothing to be concerned about. sleep anywhere you're most comfortable. If you had a drain (on the left side) that's likely to be the most sensitive side while it heals. Congratulations on your surgery! You're gonna love the new you!! nomorefat 74 Posted July 6, 2012 That is the "pudding" as I call it. It lasted a little while . Maybe 2 weeks. I remember the first day I had a "normal" poop, I opened the bathroom door and yelled it through the house. Lmao. This to shall pass, you are all doing great. I am a month out and go about 7 times a week. Some days 1, and If I miss a day, then 2x the next day.

lotstolose 23 Posted July 7, 2012 So with the above said i did mot add extremely tired and useup energy fairly quickly im assuming it is the lack of food at this point plus the effect from surgery still.

Lolipop86 9 Posted July 8, 2012 Lotstolose... Its completely normal. I had that the first night i got home. Dark and thick gross! It was like that for about a week. I too could not trust a fart! Let me tell ya when that happened luckily I was at home! LOL hope it goes Well for you I Am just about 2 weeks out. Keep a mental note of when you have bowels. It helps. Also I slept sitting up in my bed for about a whole week. I hated it that's where my heating pad came in place over my belly or on my back. I tend to sleep on my right side or better yet always have slept on my tummy its hard still but I use a pillow:)
