matalo 0 Posted July 5, 2012 Hello all, I was banded the first time in 2006. I had a slip in 2009 and had a realize band implemented. I had complications with the band again and on May 25th was revised from band to RNY. I have to admit, the pain was intense. I am 10 days post op and am back at work and still have pain (though not very severe). I work in an office, so I am sedentary and am not concerned about the pain. I have lost almost 15 pounds being on the liquid diet (now able to eat pudding / yogurt / etc). I am not really sure how to measure my weight loss as I was really not morbidly obese when being revised. I can tell you I was 311 in 2006 when banded. I had dropped to 175 and then after the slip moved up to 240 in 2009 when I had the realize band put in. I was at 214 when I had the revision and am now, basically 200. I would like to be at a fit 175-190, so once the healing is done I plan on hitting the gym again. I am rambling, I know, and am not really being organized with my thoughts. I am just writing as I think about it. I just wanted to document my story and am willing to answer any questions or try to help anyone I can.

matalo 0 Posted July 5, 2012 So you only want to lose 10 to 25 pounds? Realistically, yes, that is all I need to lose, but I would like my BMi to be reduced to a manageable teen level.
believeinme 0 Posted August 23, 2012 matalo, How are you doing now? Could I ask you if your insurance covered your bypass and how you decided to go that route instead of a sleeve? thanks.
matalo 0 Posted August 23, 2012 matalo, How are you doing now? Could I ask you if your insurance covered your bypass and how you decided to go that route instead of a sleeve? thanks. I am now down to 180, so I am at the desired weight I want to be at. Now, I just want to tighten things up. Originally, I was going to have the plication, but insurance did not cover it, so instead BCBS of Mass covered the bypass.
