Hi there! Mostly looking for encouragement! On 3rd week and still on blended, I'm not sure if i can have softer foods... Those Protein Drinks make me puke... Craving real food. Mostly salads, healthier stuff... But stuff I can chew!!!

Weight was stalled at 2nd week :-( was very discoraged... So in total i lost 17 lbs... Sounds terrible to me, but i don't have crazy amounts to loose....

I know by my third week I was able to have soft mushy foods (ie yogurt, mashed potatoes, etc). We all have the plateau's but keep following your drs instructions. Make sure your drinking your fluids and eating 3 meals a day and walk. Good luck- keep your head up your doing great!

I'm able to eat everything now 4weeks but romaine lettuce doesn't wanna stay down. I had mash potatoes & that didn't stay down but will try it again. Most days I keep food down no issues but other times I try something different & bam it comes out.

Btw soft food was horrible for me it's like my body didn't want anything. I move on to regular food but it wasn't any better but I got used to it.

I tried potatos this weekend and blaaah, didn't agree with me. It was the worst feeling ever!

I also can't take the Protein shakes anymore and the blended foods---nothing works!!! But i started to lose again, very slowly... But my medium sized clothin from almost 8 years ago fits!!! Snug, but fits!

Keep trying. I had almost 1month of vomiting everything. I just kept trying till it finally stood down. I thought there was something wrong the day I was gonna call my surgeon was the day the food didn't come up.

Alright for the medium clothes fiting you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
