That is close to my measurements. You are doing the surgery for you and that is all that matters. We all have our own self image and if yours is 100 pounds lighter than who cares what anyone else says. This journey is hard enough with your own personal demons please dont let anyone else give you theirs! Stay strong!!!

I have been hearing that a lot lately. "You don't look that heavy, you didn't need to have surgery" Looks are deceiving, and I felt that heavy. Not only that, this surgery helped with lots of other issues I was having. I have become a pro of changing the subject at this time. Otherwise I get really annoyed.

Oh yes I hear this all the time considering I am 5'10, most people never believed me when i said i weighed 304, they said i carried it well, what the hell does that mean????? I am doing this not only for the weight but to get off the 12 medications that i am on, I am only 34 years old and I WAS on 2 different blood pressure medications to keep my blood pressure down. The key word is WAS I am off my bp meds and am only taking 3 prescribed meds to date, they rest are vitamins! That my friend is a reason to have the surgery!!!

I get this all the time, some people even go as far as to use their X-ray vision and tell me things like "you're just big boned". WTF? I've also been told by a number of people that I won't logo as good thinner! Do these people really think about what they're saying.

I'm actually not that big. I weigh 260 and I'm 5'8 with a BMI of 39 and 36 years old. However I'm on 2 blood pressure medications and now borderline diabetic.

I've had my niece tell me before I had the surgery if I was pregnant and I was so embarrassed and I really do have a large body frame and big bones my Dr. Told me that he said my goal weight I'd 160 for my height I'm 5 ft 8 in and 185

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
