Thanks!!! But I was under in impression that the more you weigh the more weight you lose.

Interesting question Jen and I don't know the answer. Did your doctor indicate that was the case? I wouldn't be surprised if folks with a higher BMI typically lose more weight over 12 - 18 months than someone with a little lower BMI. But I would be surprised if a higher BMI would also result in a faster weight loss - say on a weekly basis. Hmmmm...

I'm 7 months out and I've lost 94lbs. I started at 252 and I am currently at 156. I think they said I should loose 70% of my exces weight but I hope I loose more lol. I would like to lose another 30lbs but I am really happy with my progress so far.

My Dr said he figured I would get down to 150. Well I'm 156 so I think he did a pretty good job if estimating that one lol. I hope to keep losing but I pretty happy where I am at now:)

At this point I'm an open book so feel free to ask. I was wearing jeans between 20/22. Now I'm wearing size 10! I wear size medium shirts and I've even been shopping at victoria secret lately and can wear a medium in there underwear.

Ahhhh Victoria's secret. I think I will enjoy that more than my bf! I have never shopped there! I am at a tight 20 now. And refusing to go to a 22, lol I refused each size up and bit the bullet but not going to do it. I am hopping to get a date soon!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
