Thinkthin Nutrition Bars

Recommended Posts

These taste so GOOD. Easy to eat (not gummy). I found these at SAMS Club, 20 grams of Protein, 230-240 calories, 0 grams SUGAR (11-14g sugar alcohol), gluten free. I have 4 boys 4-17yrs, I am always on the run. I noticed on my food tracking I was way down on calories and Proteins. These are easy to go and I could only eat half at a time. 15 for $18.

I am 5 weeks out. I did eat a full bar the first time... BIG mistake! Half a bar is perfect.

The name of the Protein Bars are "thinkThin nutrition bars". White chocolate, Brownie crunch and peanut chocolate. All delicious!

I've thought about trying some of these bars but am terrified they might trigger cravings so I have stayed away.

Any other ideas on Protein. Bars? Something that doesn't taste like dirty socks, perhaps? I bought a Special K strawberry protein bar and after one bite, it went out the car window. I'm on the road a lot during the day and I need something I can munch on. Any and all suggestions welcomed!

K- I too am always on the run... 4 boys 5-17 yrs and we live an hour from the closest town. I've tried the Zone Protein bars, Detour protein bars and a couple others. The ThinkThin bars work/taste the best for me. I also carry Almonds, Peanuts in the Shell, String cheese, Greek yogurt, and LOTS of Water (w/mio)! When in a pinch I have had a McD grilled chicken snack wrap- no sauce, and I throw away most of the wrap. Hope this helps!

Be careful with the high sugar alcohol ......itsa just like sugar for us. I like the bars called pure protein....they are really good and the plain chocolate has 20 Protein, 2 sugar, 4 sugar alcohol.

Second the Pure Protein Bars. The chocolate Deluxe are over the top good. Target has them (but they go fast) and at the best price I've seen anywhere. In addition to the 20g bars, Pure also has 35g bars. I've never seen them but they show them online going up to a whopping 78g of protein - gotta be one big bar! LOL

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
