Old Clothes.....keep?

Recommended Posts

I officially can't wear my size 24 silver jeans anymore....just too big along with other things I once spent so much money on. Is everyone just donating these items or keeping them "just in case" . I really want to keep them but is that setting me up for failure? They were just soooo damn expensive!

I have yet to have surgery but I know what you mean I only wear silver and miss me for jeans and I feel like it will be such a waste of money to just get rid of them I was told the consignment store would prob give me $20 for them but another friend told me to put them on fb yard sale in my town and I can get what I want out of them so that's my plan lol

I have lots of mostly 18-22, some 24's. 3X, 2X. I live in Hugo, MN if anyone is close by and in need.

I was told to get rid of them. No turning back!

I agree with Kim!!!

I used to keep the larger sizes "just in case", and instead of having a closet full of clothes, I had a closet full of sizes!

This time there's no looking back. I will be donating, ebaying, gifting, whatever- to make room for newer, better fitting garments.

Right now, I'm between sizes, and about to run out of clothes. My closet housed sizes from 18 to 24/26, but I'm wearing the 18s now, and soon I will have to get new things.

Not looking forward to buying things I will also eventually outgrow, but that's part of the acceptance we have to teach ourselves as part of this process - in my mind it's the same acceptance of buying a meal out, and leaving the better portion of food on the plate, even when taking the rest home isn't an option.

If the clothing was so dear to you due to the expense, ebay it and recoup what you can. Maybe you'll find someone selling a smaller size of what you want at a fabulous price. I wish you luck and peace as you come to a decision that will make you happy.

I wouldn't give all of them away! My doctor/ nutritionist/ exercise psychologist/ psychologist/ program coordinator told me to keep 1-2 pair of my favorite outfits to try on as I lose the weight to see how much I change. Also it is always good to have a few outfits in as many sizes as you can just in case you have company over... they may need a set of clothes to change into for various reasons.

I kept 1 pair of pants and 1 shirt so I could do a befor and after pic.

After that I'll use the pants to make a tent for the kids.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
