disneynut02 18 Posted June 26, 2012 I am just getting into the pureed stage. 2 times I have eaten food and had no problems until an hour later after trying to drink. I figured if I was going to have issues it would happen a lot sooner. The symptoms are pain in the stomach/pouch. Also sharp back pains on left side. Nothing has come up. Any thoughts? LosingItForMe2011 320 Posted June 26, 2012 Hello Disney, I haven't had my surgery yet but, if that were happening to me, with all that I've learned already....and from experience with a lapband....have you measured how much you ate? Maybe you're stomach isn't quite ready yet for the mushies or you've taken in a little more than you can so it's taking longer to digest. So when you add a little Fluid into your pouch it's causing the pain. Definitely call your surgeon/nutritionist - whoever moved you to mushies and let them know what you're going through. It's always safer to do that Good luck and I hope it goes away for you.
disneynut02 18 Posted June 26, 2012 I ordered a food scale today, but I honestly don't think it's too much maybe too fast. I was told to wait 30 minutes before drinking and I waited over an hour. I guess after the scale comes, I'll have a better idea.
shelb 1 Posted June 26, 2012 It reminds me of the problem I had were food stayed in my pouch too long. Scar tissue had made the exit too small, it's called a stoma or stricture. It hurt a lot when I drank something of the pouch was still full with food. Almost a heartburn like feeling with the foamies to follow. It maybe too much food but that pain is more immediate in my experience. I can tell when that last bite was one too many as soon as I go there. A phone call won't hurt just to be safe.
