Hi. I am almost 7 weeks out and My weight has been hovering between 252 and 255 for about 3 weeks. Not losing. Exercising a few times a week. Pre op was 297. Surgery date 5-11-12. I am eating the amounts I should and not snacking and I am drinking my Water. Has anyone had a plateu like that? When should i expect it to break?

I was just signing to on to start a similar post. Post op 288lbs.. Surgery 5/21.. And I've been hovering 258-259 for a few days now.. Not sure if it's the heat- or my cycle- or normal.. Frustrating!! :(

My health care partner nurse told me to increase my Protein by 10 - 20 grams a day because I felt that my weight loss was slowing. I was doing between 50 and 60. So I did and I lost 6.2 lbs this week!!

Thank you. I am not really counting Protein but I am just eating my 3 30mil cups of food a day, mostly meat. I will see how I can ad some protein. That is a super loss in a week!! Congrats!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
