Tactless People And Their Stupid Comments.

Recommended Posts

Why is it people who know you have had surgery think that it's totally ok to start their conversations with you or just plain ask how much weight have you lost? I'm much more than my weight loss! Not sure why it bothers me but it does... Only 2 weeks out so not back at work and coworkers etc are texting and asking etc

OMG...that's so rude. It would be nice if they would ask if u r doing ok or if you need anything.

I guess I'd have to hear how it was said....to relate to his comment I do feel almost normal now...sometimes people have a habit of ingesting their feet. Sorry it made you upset, some people are tactless.

:)

maybe the people from work that are texting you are just excited for you. they don't know what's going on with your feelings and emotions right now so try not to get too upset by their inquiries. you are a beautiful woman now matter how much you weigh, just remember that when the stupid people open their mouths!

I get the same thing! People don't ask what's new or how I'm doing they just want to know my number. I'm proud of my weight loss yes but some times it's annoying!!!

Nothing like people who judge you for getting the surgery and think less of you for it because it's the "easy way out". I love those who I told I was getting surgery and they say "oh that surgery is so unhealthy, just work out and eat healthy!" work out and eat healthy you say? What is this black magic you speak of? I've never heard of that and certainly haven't tried it, Cookies are good for you aren't they? Fucking morons.

This surgery is not the easy way out. In most ways its harder than dieting. One day food tastes good the next (same food) not so much. It irritates me when people say that and judge. Walk in my shoes with my health problems and maybe you can judge me. Sorry just venting, just had this conversation yesterday....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
