TinyMamiOf3kids 1,280 Posted June 19, 2012 Hey fluffy lots of walking. Don't take pj you won't be able to wear it. They always poking needlesc& taking blood out. I'm a brave woman so I can't speak for others. I was in pain in hospital & after I got home pain free. Discomfort yes. Moody you hate food at first. Cooking is annoying when your not eating it but you get used to it.
Katie 16 Posted June 19, 2012 Katie - can you talk more about your tear? Was it internal? An incision? It was internal, the size of a pin hole too. I washed a car (stupid, I know) but since I was feeling so good, I honestly did't think much about it. Woke up the next morning doubled over in pain. The town I live in had to medvac me to Stanford (my surgeon is there) I had emergency surgery that night. I actually ended up getting sepsis and one morning they couldn't get my vitals under control. It was so sucky, and that time my stomach looked pretty intense with all the bandages. They did go through the same incesions. I know it was my fault because my doctor had never had this happen to him.
pointer 92 Posted June 19, 2012 With any invasive surgery you will be in pain. Just give it time to heal and walk as much as u can.

Beachbum 70 Posted June 20, 2012 Thanks for sharing your story. So sorry you went through all that. My biggest worry in all this is dealing with my children and somehow hurting myself. I will have another adult with me almost all of the time for the first two weeks but I don't want to get too comfortable and then do too much
Katie 16 Posted June 20, 2012 I completely understand. Know your limits. I felt too good after my first surgery, I didn't even take pain meds when I got home. And I was released a day early because I was doing so well. Just be careful. Really, you'll be okay!

fluffylady 27 Posted June 21, 2012 Thanks so much for all the well wishes and prayers. Greatly appreciate it. Had surgery yesterday. Dr said it was text book perfect. Out of it yesterday, just wanted to sleep. No eating or drinking surgery day. Started Clear Liquids today. Was able to walk a lot more. Going home tomorrow. Actually was not as bad as I thought. Thank God.
