Baby and Band Question's???

Recommended Posts

Okay- I have been banded 3 years this past October. I have lost all but 25 pounds of my weight I wanted to lose.. :D

My husband and I are going to try to have another baby. I'm 35 and my clock is tick tick ticking..LOL:p

I have so many questions about how my band will hold up..

It has been 2 years this past December since my last fill and I still have an awesome fill and wonder do I get the fill removed while I'm pregnate?

If I DO NOT what will happen? If I do will I gain everything back?

What about my port?- I can really feel the location of my port with each pound I lose.. In fact if I wear a tight fitting part of jeans when I take them off you can see the ring(port)

How much weight did you put on?

Did you have a C-section or natural?

I really want to have another child. My husband got fixed back in 97 after the birth of our son and this past SEptember got it reversed.. My husband is in Iraq right now but will be home on 2 weeks R&r in march and we will be working on it:}

I just want to make sure I will be doing the right thing for my body and have a healthy baby!!

Thanks

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
