Right now...I was told not to focus on calories but to get in fluids and Protein. I finally got my dietician to tell me between 600-800 calories a day. I am four weeks post op.

My dr never said a calorie count either . Try to get. 50-60 grams of Protein, and 64 0z of Water. I try to make every meal be protein, and sometimes I struggle with water cause I use Protein Shakes in between meals to actually get all my protein. The calorie count is not

Really correct either cause I can not always get the correct volume count of food. Like I can't eat

A whole egg, but I dont get a choice for 1/3 of an egg.

Wasn't really wanting a Drs calorie count was just wondering what mfp was saying. Also you czn change the serving sizes in the app. For instance if you only ate 1/3 of an egg...where it says how many servings it'll say 1, you can change that to .33 to reflect 1/3 or s serving and it will recalculate you at that serving size. I know calories aren't important...I was just wondering where everyone was at. I actually only use the app for the purpose of counting my protein....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
