Taylor21 4 Posted June 18, 2012 Does anyone out there have any "recommended" amounts of Calories or Carbs from your Surgeon or Nutritionist? I am 3 weeks out from surgery and when I ask they just keep telling me protien and fluids!!! I've got that down but my OCD is kicking in to watch and count everything! kizzy 99 Posted June 18, 2012 My surgeon told me counting calories is not necessary right now and I'm not allowed to eat carbs in stage 4 I'm 1 month out. I only eat Protein such as eggs chicken fish turkey and cheese
Beachbum 70 Posted June 18, 2012 I was told natural carbs (from fruit / veg) are ok but carbs from added sugar are not. Fiber also counteracts some carbs so you subtract fiber from total carb count to get net carbs. Keep in mind that total carbs are for full servings so if something has 10 carbs on 10 ounces, it is 2 carbs per 2 oz serving. Hope that helps.
