Recommended Posts

Does anyone out there have any "recommended" amounts of Calories or Carbs from your Surgeon or Nutritionist? I am 3 weeks out from surgery and when I ask they just keep telling me protien and fluids!!! I've got that down but my OCD is kicking in to watch and count everything!

My surgeon told me counting calories is not necessary right now and I'm not allowed to eat carbs in stage 4 I'm 1 month out. I only eat Protein such as eggs chicken fish turkey and cheese

I was told natural carbs (from fruit / veg) are ok but carbs from added sugar are not. Fiber also counteracts some carbs so you subtract fiber from total carb count to get net carbs. Keep in mind that total carbs are for full servings so if something has 10 carbs on 10 ounces, it is 2 carbs per 2 oz serving. Hope that helps.

My nutritionist said 1000 calories a day and 3 meals per day .

Mine said between 600 and 800 calories a day.

Mine says 500 to 600 from 3-7 weeks then increase

I was told 600 to 800 a day and try to keep the sugar carbs under 5 sugar carbs per meal.

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

        Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
