I've been on Nextel, Sprint, Verizon and Cingular and after having been on all I'll give you my humble opinion. Verizon is the worst and Cingular is the best. Verizon if you damage or loose your phone they want you to buy a new one from them at huge prices, Cingular you can buy off ebay, get one from a friend, at a yard sale or whatever and just put in your sims card. Plus, 2 different times on Cingular and I've been with them for 5 years now my son got download and internet happy and run our bill up to 1300.00 last month and they gave me 2 courtesy credit so far taking off the 1169.00 he ran up on my bill and didn't make me pay it. They have been great. The other time my bill was 400.00 and they took off 125.00 credit.

I have Cingular. It's the best for me because my family uses Cingular (no minute hits for the calls). DH had Nextel for his work phone but they're changing to Cingular too. They only used Nextel because of the 2-way capabilities.

I looked at Sprint, and decided against. If you look at their coverage map, it seems to really only be thick along major interstates, and who spends most of their time there... not worth it, even though I would get a huge discount through my company's partner/discount program.

Tmobile, in my opinion, survives because of its technology and appeal to younger crowds, not on its functional offerings.

We have 4 phones on our plan, too. I chose Cingular because of the rollover minutes. I keep track online of minutes used (mostly just toward the end of the billing cycle) and turn into the prime time gestapo if it looks like they might go over by very much.

Now....if you are talking new phones, I don't recommend the Razor. I have had mine replaced 3 times - that's a total of 4 pink Razors and I still have trouble with it sometimes. It locks up and you have to take the battery out and put it back in.

As far as problems with your kids surfing the 'net on their phone and downloading games, graphics, etc they can block all that stuff. Just call Cingular (or whoever) and give them the numbers you don't want to have internet access, download capability, text messaging, etc. You can even block call waiting, which I did on Cheyenne's phone because she would not click back over and ended up using 2 hours of minutes while a call was on hold.

I have been with Cingular, Verizon (twice), and Sprint. I currently have Verizon. Verizon has been great. I have only had one problem so far and they cleared it up immediately. I have the cheapest plan and add 250 text/picture messages for $5 a month. The customer service has been excellent. I get free Verizon to Verizon which is helpful b/c a lot of people I know have Verizon.

Cingular was cool...No complaints.

I hated Sprint. I broke my contract to get away from them. I had so many problems and nothing was resolved until I turned them into the BBB.

We have Verizon and have replaced our phones with phones bought on Ebay with no problem. I like Verizon, my whole family is on it, and we have free in-network calling. Free nights, weekends. We've been happy with them for just over 3 years. ~Mandy

I have Cingular and have been happy with them. I switched over to t-mobile, found their coverage and customer service to be severly lacking, so I broke my contract, when back to Cingular and have never looked back.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
