My husband told me he was proud of me! He said he was glad I got what I wanted and he loves me either way. When we met I was 220 which is a size 16 for me. 17 years later I'm 321(down from 338) and a size 26. Not even a week post op and he says he sees a difference. He has surprised me. He's been wiping my butt(hurts to reach around) since the surgery. He has bathed me everyday, shaved my legs and even painted my toes! I was so worried he'd be jealous! He said I'm a soldier for dealing with the pain without too many complaints. Although I'm quite bitchy because of hormones and pain. I'm a stay at home mom and he works 50+ hrs a week. He's been doing all of the coouand cleaning even gave the girls baths every night including combing their hair. I am truly blessed to have him!

I was totally expecting the opposite he gave me hell preop. Telling me not to lose too much and people eat around it and wasting my time. But he admitted that he was.afraid I'd die on the table and leave him and the kids. He says I'm beautiful fat or skinny but he doesn't want every man looking at me. Sweet!

My husband was the same way...we don't have any children yet due to my obesity. He said he would love me either way....he mentioned "I met you chunky and I love you that way" :)

After going to support groups and seminars with me and knowing that my weight was the reason we couldn't conceive he has been very supportive. He sees me at times whine and suffer because I can't eat real food but sticks by me every time.I just know he will be the same way your husband is with you now...

Hope you have a speedy recovery. God bless u!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
