theresa 13 Posted June 12, 2012 I had my surgery 4/27/12. My hubby is scheduled for surgery 7/10/12. Should be good doing it together but in my case it has been hard for me. I worry about it being to hard for him. I so hope not. Good luck to the both of you.
cutiepieme 41 Posted June 13, 2012 Wow Theresa that is exactly how I feel. Like I want to protect him from any pain or any problems. But with prayer we all will be ok. Just a little challenge. Good luck to you both and please keep in touch with me. Have you had complications at all and how r u doing so far?
Beachbum 70 Posted June 13, 2012 I am planning to use some baby food fruits and vegetables, especially if I'm not home. Add some Protein Powder and there you go! My surgery center also suggests 98% fat free cream Soups. I picked up some cartons today so you can pour the right amount vs opening a can. Hope that gives you some ideas 1 candy41 reacted to this
theresa 13 Posted June 13, 2012 I had complications and wad in hospital 5 days. Blood pressure and oxygen problem. Since coming home from hospital it has been a challenge. One day I can tolerate a certain food and the next not so much. I got something caught and got really sick. The good my diabetes stabalized before left hospital. Now I no longer take medication for it. I have also lost about 50 pounds.

DLCoggin 1,788 Posted June 13, 2012 I had my surgery 10/20/11 and my wife had hers 09/01/11. I'm not much of a cook but we purchased a steamer while we were at the pre-op weight loss stage. To this day we use it several times a week. Great kitchen tool! We cook fish and veggies in it all of the time. Fill it with Water, set the timer and when it dings dinner is ready. We also purchased a George Foreman grill. Another great tool for grilling fish, chicken and veggies (especially green/red/yellow peppers). Great tool, drains off what little fat there might be and super easy to use. Have our eye on a Vitamix blender but they're pretty pricey so haven't taken the plunge yet but it's definitely coming. There are also tons of high Protein, low fat options in your market that require very little prep. You can find lots of great ideas right here on the forum! Congratulations to both of you on your decision!! You're gonna love the new you!!
dwheelertn 2 Posted June 13, 2012 DL, Walmart has a GE brand "bullet mixer" for I think around $20. Might be an option for ya.

DLCoggin 1,788 Posted June 13, 2012 I've read so many great things about the bullet mixers. Including many comments here on the forum. Gotta get me one of those!
Beachbum 70 Posted June 13, 2012 I have the baby bullet. The cups hold 2 oz and you can set the date you made the food. You can buy a pack of 6 containers separately. Comes with a great fridge tray too

cutiepieme 41 Posted June 14, 2012 I purchased the ninja! Much better to me because u can get one for like 30$ at Walmart but u can make anything! Blend Soups, smoothies, meat, etc! It is very powerful too! I highly recommend that. 1 Crimzon81 reacted to this
