Help! Gotta Choose Surgery By June 19!

Recommended Posts

I chose gastric bypass for several reasons. Here are a few....

1- There are no long term studies associated with the gastric sleeve

2 - My surgeon recommended it for my weight, health history etc.

3- You get the most weight loss with bypass

4- It forces you to give up sugar (which I really needed to do)

Hope this helps!

I chose bypass because of the "bypass" part of it!! You will be able to eat more (eventually) with the Sleeve and everything you eat is absorbed. With bypass, I knew I would get the best results because of the bypass... yes you have to take supplements the rest of your life, but it's worth it. I believe the success rate for RNY is higher than Sleeve. You don't want to have a second surgery, if the sleeve fails you would have to go back in for RNY. I just did it from the git go! Good luck!

good luck choosing, i know the decision is not easy:-( i choose the rny for the above stated reasons also..I'm 5 feet and was 291 with multiple medical issues..my doc said rny was the best choice to loose most weight and rid me of my diabetes, copd and help with my arthritis, hope he was right lol i had my surgery 6/7...good luck whichever way u decide:-)

My insurance had a once in a lifetime option. I figured I would go all in because of that.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
