Ok, today is my anniversary and my hubby wants to take me to a steak house. Have any of you tried steak?

I have. Just take teeny tiny bites and chew like there's no tomorrow. I will even spit it into my napkin (very ladylike of course) if it feels like I can't chew it enough. May I suggest the filet mignon? Lol. Seriously, it will be the most tender. Good luck and happy anniversary!

Thank you, everyone! We went to a place called the Plaza III. It was very nice. I had the grilled chicken breast and mashed potatoes. I did fine, missed some of my favorites like the bread, but this is worth it!

I even still have issues with chicken unless I dip it in something like mustard or sauce. Steak scares me still....truth be told I could live on lobster tail hahaha

I was eating mostly "real food" from week three. I could not purée meat lol. I just couldn't eat it. So I just took little bites and chewed till I could chew no more. Lol. I'm now almost 8 weeks out and I eat whatever I want. I've had zero problems. As long as its little bites and chew like crazy

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
