You have NO idea how motivating this is to me. I am 275lbs and my goal is 150-165; However, I was concerned about loose skin.

Hello everyone and thanks for all the coments. Week one was my liquid diet Water, crystal light, sugar free popsicles and Jello and fruit juice bars NO SUGAR ADDED. Week two -four was a full liquid diet 1/2 cup of orange juice, sugar free carnation instant Breakfast, sugarfree applesauce, and i added Protein Powder o everything i ate and drink to. Weeks five-eight was Pureed/blenderized diet and weeks eight-twelve was soft, aolid foods. As far as the exercise part i think it depends on you and you body iwalked the same day i had surgery and from ther on i never stopped. I still follow my diet i eat on a kids plate i work out five days a week some times twice a day. i walk on the treadmill incline at 7.5 at 5.5 for an hour everyday!! And on Tuesday and thursday i work out with my trainer for an hour. You really hve to be true and honest to yourself. And i quote these word to myself everyday THAT THIS IS ONLY A TOOL AND I'M IN CONTROL OF IT! My doctor told me that so i've never forgotten it think about it true. Some people think of this as being a quick fix to lose weight its not. if you are not serious about this surgery don't do it because it is life changing. And if your not ready for change don't do it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
