hookieluv 11 Posted June 9, 2012 I fell asleep right away but woke up a hour later it was a restless sleep I always had problems sleeping but now that I'm 300 lbs it has gotten a lot worse, my problem I fall asleep driving , sitting and talking. I have no problem falling asleep, it's just staying asleep, I've now have my cpap machine and still find it hard to stay asleep, even tho I may sometimes sleep 2-2half hours now , it met have to do with me losing wieght from 300 to 271 I have the band and am wanting to have it removed and have the bypass ,
lynn 49 Posted June 9, 2012 Finner women just wondering how u slept last night? ??
cooksie 124 Posted June 9, 2012 When I had my sleep study the tech came in after two hours and said "you're apnea is do severe that I have to go ahead and put you on CPAP now. I can't let you sleep any longer with out it". I knew I had OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea), however I didn't know it was so severe! My AHI (which is how many times you quit breathing with in an hour) was 80.9!!! Yah, it's severe!!! I bill CPAP machines and supplies at my job so I borrowed a machine from work and hopefully after my surgery it will go away!! I feel soooo much better since I started therapy!!! hookieluv 11 Posted June 9, 2012 I'm thinking if mine wasn't a full face mask , that I might be able to sleep better, I do sleep better then I was , just not any longer then 3 hours. Which I did last night and it felt great. Gosh I love my sleep , when I can get it. So yea the machine helps and I'm told that it may go away with more wieght lost . lynn 49 Posted June 9, 2012 I am hoping mine goes away with some weight loss.... i have tried every mask and the full is better for me because i sleep with my mouth somewhat open. I only sleep an hr or two at a time. Last night was the first night in year's i have slept almost four hours without waking up. So i am really hoping with some more weight loss i won't need my machine anymore.
cooksie 124 Posted June 9, 2012 I use a Quattro Mirage Full Face because like you I am a "mouth breather" and I love it!!! Best sleep I've had in years!!!
hookieluv 11 Posted June 9, 2012 Yeh I think 3 hours is pretty good , if I can get more night like that I'd be happy , I'm hopeing with more wieght lost that I won't be needing mine also, we will see,
FinerWoman 90 Posted June 10, 2012 Finner women just wondering how u slept last night? ?? I did ok it wasn't the best sleep of my life but I did get to sleep. When I was on my back there was signs of sleep apnea, but on my side there wasn't. I sleep for what seemed two to three hours.
