Don't be so hard on your self. On the pre-op surgery I lost 15 pounds, and I think 11 pounds after surgery. I hear a lot of people losing 30pounds,and more on pre-op. Other losing 30pounds & more in only 2 weeks of diet. I think the less I lose in a way the better cuz my skin won't sag all that fast until I can offord some plastic surgery. So far I been losing 1-2 pounds per day.

Everyone gets to a point that they slow down on weight lost from what I been reading, and then bam they lose weight again.

Ok...the problem with going to the gym and weight loss is your building muscle as well as loosing inches by going to the gym! I have been so discouraged lately but I've been going to the gym 5 days a week and last week I dropped from 188 to 168 but guess what I'm back at 180 and can only chalk it up to the muscle thing!

I think so to because I see weight loss in my clothes but not on the scale. Maybe I should lay off the gym :P

I was having a stall (5weeks out) and my surgeon told me to make sure I was only eating solid Protein. I had become too dependent on soft foods like yogurt and refried Beans. And was going to the gym everyday.

Anyway, I followed his advice and lost five pounds this week. I can only eat 1 or 2 oz of solid Proteins. I was eating 3 or more oz of the soft foods.

Hope you start losing again soon!!

Our program starts us out on Protein shakes. My surgeon only wants us on them so that we can keep up our Protein during the first few stages. After that, he wants us to eat our meals. Three meals, no Snacks. I had kept eating yogurt and Beans and drinking the shakes so I stalled out my weight loss. Now I eat eggs, cheese, moist chicken, tuna, salmon, turkey- things that I chew up but fill my pouch. He said the pouch needs to feel full.

Having said that, everyone should follow their own surgeon's plan. One thing I noticed is that all the surgeons have different ideas of what works.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
