I'm just starting the process to get approved for surgery, my insurance requires 6 months of Dr's visits before granting approval.. so my surgery won't be until December, but I love reading everything you all post. The support is awesome. I was wondering if anyone could post their liver shrink diet? I'd like an idea of what it is :-) I'm 30, 5'8" & a terrible 300lbs. :-( I can't wait to look on the outside how I feel on the inside!!! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
LosingItForMe2011 320 Posted June 1, 2012 Hello Crimzon....seems every bariatric center has a different diet to follow pre-op. Some don't have one at all. I was given the direction to replace one meal with a Protein shake a day in order to lose weight before surgery. But I wasn't given anything additional to do the week or two before surgery I was only told NOT to gain weight. If you started with your bariatric center ask your nutritionist what she/he recommends. cooksie 124 Posted June 1, 2012 Welcome!!!! If all goes well I will have my surgery in December as well...yay! The post-op diet that I got is for four weeks and it consist of 1 Protein Shake for Breakfast, 1 Protein shake for lunch, 4 oz of protein, 4 oz of vegetables and 4 oz of fruit for dinner......nothing but Water in between!!! lorid 13 Posted June 2, 2012 I received my conversion date for July 23, on 7/3 I meet with the nurse and dietician, then on 7/10 a 1/2 day of pre-op and meet with the nurse again.
