Almost Reaching Half Way Point.

Recommended Posts

I have been hitting the gym hard and I am 9lbs away from reaching the half way point to my weight loss goal. Tuesday I will start my six week out from surgery. I started at 335 and I'm at 282. Everyone is saying how amazing I look. I'm even getting compliments from the guys at work. They are attorneys and usually are jerks and only care about themselves. So for them to say something nice is like wow.

I'm getting so much positive attention and I am not use to it. Hehe

I hope to reach 270 by the end of week eight!

You know thinking about your halfway goal made me think about mine! I never considered a halfway goal but when I loose 24 more lbs I'll have lost 100 lbs total and I only have 50 more lbs til I hit my ultimate goal!!

That is awesome vamp!!! It is such a nice feeling to see results for once. Im trying to get to 210 and I'm about 282 at the moment. My surgeon suggest I get to 220. But I want to try 210. Something I was back in like ninth grade lol but if I look hot at 220 or around that then I'm good with that.

I am a "recovering attorney" and completely agree with your characterization of attorneys. That's why I left the law after practicing for eight years! 🙂

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
