LosingItForMe2011 320 Posted June 2, 2012 Don't know how long ago your surgery was but, if it's recent you may not want to take benedryl because your tummy would still be healing. An external ointment would probably be better Best bet you can ask your doc to see what they suggest. Good luck with it...nothing like having an itch that you can't scratch. yuck! shanniepoo1 2 Posted June 5, 2012 Kymbesha!!!! Call your dr about this! It may seem insignificant, but call! It may not be healing right. You never know. I had the old fashioned incision and about two inches of the scar didn't heal right, they had to do this liquid cauterize thing and it was pretty gross. The reason I was given for the poor healing was: poor blood distribution in the fatty stomache tissue. I hope I don't sound like an alarmist; but just call and ask your dr. It will put our minds at ease
Kymbesha 3 Posted June 11, 2012 It lessened after about a week, thankfully. Never took any Benadryl, didn't feel like crushing them lol. It still itches on the surface, but it's scratch able!
