I am so frustrated with my husband right now. He feels like I have no business getting wls. He tells me it is for lazy people and it is the "easy" way out. We just got in a huge fight and he said no matter what he would support me but that he was entitled to his opinion. I feel so alone in this and frankly he really pissed me off! Help!

I think you need to educate him on exactly what wls is and the reason you need it. Take him with you on your appt or support groups. Everyone said the same thing to me. Now that I'm 50lbs+ lost, now people see the difference in me and understand that I was heavy and needed the assistance. Best of luck.

No way is this a way out, it is just giving us a helping hand that we need & deserve. Does he not understand that what he thinks it the "easy way out" is actually the most life changing. Nothing will ever be the same, but one day it will become our normal. We have to do this for ourselves. Don't let it get to you, because you know as soon as your thin and hot he will regret everything he said :)

Stay strong

I have tried to educate him, but he doesn't want to hear it. I am just not going to say any more about it. He can either deal with it or not. This is about my health and if he doesn't like it.....well, he knows where the door is. I refuse for him to make me miserable because of his own ignorance!

My husband was EXACTLY the same! We fought at the beginning of my journey about it all the time!! But he's 6 foot 2 with out an inch of fat on him! And had NO clue what it felt like to be fat! He would say "go for a walk" "go to the gym" then fill the cabinets and fridge with junk. After a year of hearing his crap I finally blew up and in that fight I learned he was scared.... He had been doing his own research about the surgery and was terrified something would go wrong .... or I would leave him once I lost all of my weight. He had his own insecurities about my journey that I had no clue about!! He still never let up about me getting it. But when my surgery date came he had never been so supportive and loving and even now three weeks later he is constantly making sure I am ok........ Sometimes men, manly men... Show emotions ALL WRONG... It's ok to be angry with him for acting the way he is... but remember... he loves you!! Maybe it's something else about your surgery that's getting to him :) ......

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
