Jen in SoCal 189 Posted May 25, 2012 I thought it might be fun to share some food finds with each other. I'm not really talking about recipes, just things we find at the market that are really tasty, high in Protein and ready to serve or easy to cook. It might be a good idea to name the store or website etc that you found it on. For instance, I found at Trader Joe's Turkey meatballs Serving size is two meatballs 100 calories 4g of fat 5g of carbs 1g of sugar carbs 2g of Fiber carbs 12g of Protein They come fully cooked in a 1 pound frozen bag and have no artificial color or flavor and no preservatives. And they're really delicious! I had trouble eating two but they are a great alternative to tuna which is getting a little boring to me. 1 berniec reacted to this
DLCoggin 1,788 Posted May 25, 2012 Here's a recipe that we recently discovered that is absolutely to die for! So far we've done this with rainbow trout and tilapia and both are excellent. Super simple. Take whatever fish you prefer and put it on sheet of aluminum foil on a cookie sheet. You want the foil large enough to make a "steaming bag" by folding the top and ends. You'll want to be sure to have enough so there is open space above the fish. Add a generous amount of store bought salsa - we used the Tostito's medium spicy. Now put fresh cilantro on the top to taste (we love cilantro so we use quite a lot). Salt and pepper to taste or just add after cooking. Seal your tent on the top and one end and then add about an ounce of the cheapest beer you can find. Seal the second end and bake in the oven at 400 for about 20 to 30 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish and how many pieces you have. When it comes out of the oven, open the foil carefully - hot steam and you don't want all the salsa sauce to leak out. We serve it in bowls because the sauce is absolutely delicious!! Amazing!!
