nish 102 Posted May 23, 2012 I know everyones different, but I was wondering 1. How much time people have taken off of work? 2. When you really felt 100% Thanks all!
Tbeiley 2 Posted May 23, 2012 I'm only 1 wk post op. I took a shower this morning & was exhausted. Rested and decided to drive 2 miles to get my hair done. I'm still under the weather. I'm planning 2 wks off of work & seem to be improving more and more each day. But everyone is different. Congrats on your decision for a new you.

Tracy McCarroll_16745 2 Posted May 23, 2012 I had my surgery on 1/26/2012. I took 2 weeks off, but felt 100% better after the first week. I had to come home from the hospital with a drainage tube and at my 1 week post op surgeon's visit, he removed the tube and the staples, and I felt so much better. I truly felt like I was getting better and stronger every single day. Still have some struggles, 4 months post op, but feel nearly normal again. This surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I've lost 59 lbs and am still losing.
Sunflwr76 45 Posted May 24, 2012 I had my surgery March 30th & went back to work April 25th. At least with my job I wish I had listened to my doctor and took the full 6-8 weeks off! I'm not quite as tired as what I was but I still come home dragging everyday! Mostly due to mental & physical stress of my job but it also plays a huge role in the healing of your body! LosingItForMe2011 320 Posted May 24, 2012 I'm definitely taking 2 weeks off and then hoping to work at home for the 3rd week. I have to drive myself and my commute is 36 miles so I need to be totally up to par before doing that.
armywifet 26 Posted May 24, 2012 I am on my second week off and am still having Fluid intake issues and weakness. I am good for about an hour then I pass out. It's crazy. I am taking next week off. I work in an operating room and know I could not do a whole case at this point. I hope I get better soon
KimW 38 Posted May 24, 2012 Had my surgery on a Wednesday, was off pain meds by Saturday, went out with my walking group at one week, & went back to work the next Monday. My only regret was going back to work full time so quickly. I was still really tired & it was hard to make it through the entire day. I am now at 5 weeks, feeling great & started running the other day. Best decision of my life to have this surgery!
