Has anyone stopped crushing their pills and started taking them whole before the 8 weeks is up?

I'm curious to know this as well.

The other day i crushed up two Tylenol and put it in my diet cranberry juice (I'm still on liquids). It tasted like poison!!!

I've decided to live with discomfort instead of enduring that horrible concoction again. I have arthritis and so far I have been lucky enough to not have any serious issues with that, probably because I'm not working.

I have another question. Where in the world do you find liquid Tylenol for adults?

I could not find liquid Tylenol for adults but I spoke w a pharmacist who said take the children's and increase the dosage. It seems to be working for me. There is liquid for adults but most pharmacies do not seem to carry it, something about it not selling, according to the Target pharmacist.

What about prescription meds? I mix crush mine and mix with applesauce which helps tremendously but I hate doing it because it is still horrible!

I hv meds that I can't stop, and my surgeon has prescribed losec as well. I was told I can hv gel caps, and capsules, but not those powdery tablets, as they can get stuck, and will taste and feel horrible until they melt. My friend said if she needs antibiotics she asks for liquid as her type comes in big elephant tablets.

My doc said I can take my meds without crushing them starting week 4 so I only have. Few days left of this rat poison. Lol. The meds make me sick.

I take a Tylenol if I need it but that's the only pills I have taken!

Amazon has the liquid Tylenol for adults but it's pretty pricey - $25 for an 8oz bottle. But they also have a generics for $13 and up (good idea to check with your doctor before taking a generic). My doctor suggested mixing the crushed meds with applesauce or Sugar Free Chocolate pudding (which was my personal preference). I was on the crushed meds until the second post-op checkup which was about six weeks out.

I'm just 8 weeks out as of today- I've never crushed mine - the first 4 weeks I used chewable vitamins but ran out so since I've been taking these HUGE Multivitamin pills!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
