Yup. I was actually calling to get my class date. I was told it'd prob be Monday before I got a surgery date but figure they prob only do the classes 2-3 times a month and they schedule them so its not like they find an opening persay like with the surgery. Either there is a class scheduled that hasn't been filled or there isn't. So' date=' I was calling about the class. When they called me back they mentioned the surgery date on the message (not the actual date but just that they were calling to schedule a surgery date). I wonder if classes are surgeon specific like the orientations were??[/quote']

The other class wasn't the lifestyle discovery one had all diff people in there. And I think the classes are done every Tuesday from 9-1 or 2-6 or something along those lines

Question for the ppl going to IU North... Do any of you know if we have a pre-op liquid diet? I think its just ms jackson and I, and we don't know, but I figured I'd ask just in case.

I am going to IU North. As far as the facility, they have no liquid diet, but my surgeon will put me on one prior to surgery but I think it is for 2-3 days. I meet with him on Oct 2 and surgery is Oct 9.

We share a surgeon :) but I'm pre-op. I have "heard" many ppl complain of left side pain post-op. A good online friend had her surgery and the pain persisted for 4-5 week b4 it subsided. I believe its pretty normal. Prayers it goes away soon for ya! Congrats on making it to the bench.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
