Miracles Do Happen! Just Believe.

Recommended Posts

I have some exciting news to share. I am 5 days post-op, and I have no signs of diabetes!!

My blood sugar readings have been under 130 in the am, and no higher than 150 in the pm.

I have lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks!!

I am not very sore at all. I haven't taken any INSULIN or PAIN MEDS in 4-5 days!! No Nausea or vomiting. I totally believe in all my heart, it was your prayers that has healed me. And I appreciate you all SO much !! May God Bless you all.

I do believe prayers help. I had no real pain at all after I woke up from surgery. I didn't even feel the 6 small openings. I was up and walking around a few hours after waking up. They let me go a day early from the hospital. Even at home I Have been great. No nausea or anything like that. God is good and prayers do help. I got my surgery April 24th and I am down 45 lbs so far. That includes a week of pre op diet. Keep up the good work!

Great job Barbiedoll and congratulations!! I had essentially the same experience. They told me that there would be very little pain but I was still shocked at how little there was. And that's just the beginning! Wait until you see how fast the pounds melt away. Just amazing!!

That is awesome! Thank you for posting about your diabetes remission/cure. It is very encouraging to me to hear that. My main reason for getting the R.N. Y. is to cure my diabetes.

I haven't had my surgery yet but it's getting close. Next month is my sixth month in the program. I was hoping to have my surgery in July but I just found out my preferred surgeon is taking three weeks off in June for vacation so my gut feeling is I won't have my surgery till August. So close yet so far away. I am so looking forward to being where you are.

good luck in your weight loss.

Yes. I was walking 2 hours after surgery. Went home the next day. No pain meds. And yes I did a pre diet 2 weeks before.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
