Please help - gallblader out yesterday

Recommended Posts

SO i had my gallbladder removed yesterday, and today, everything I eat (even liquid) comes right back up. No matter what I eat, I slime ball it back out. Did anyone experience this that had thier gallbladder removed?

I had my gallbladder removed at the same time as I got my band. I'm sure it made my recovery harder but I didn't have the problems you're having. I just can't use "garlic powder" anymore or it makes me sick. Have you spoken with your doctor? I'd give him a call. Good luck.

There's GOT to be a load of swelling and inflammation in there, so just take it easy and tiny sips of liquids till it dies down. If you feel you're going to get dehydrated act on it right away.

What made the determination for your surgeon to remove the gallbladder? did you ever have pain/symptoms before?

I had my gallbladder out yesterday and have not had any problems with eating. I am sticking to an easy bland diet. However, before my surgery I had my Dr. take out .50cc's anticipating your problem. Word to the wise...do not be tight before surgery!

Glad you feel better now!!

Yes, I need pain meds. Lor-Tab 15ml every 4 hours. I spent the night in the hospital because my surgery was after 4 o'clock. I used the Mrphine pump about 20 time from 6pm until I left today at 11am.

What's you pain level? I am having the most problems with gas. Walk, walk, walk.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
