KimW 38 Posted May 12, 2012 I am a little over 3 weeks post-op. Just started on some soft foods & really having a hard time. Feels like I have a big knot in my chest & hurts to drink anything. I am ready to go back to liquids! Tried to eat 1/2 scrambled egg today & it was horrible! Also have not had a BM for a week & have gained a couple of pounds. Should I be worried? Good news is that I fit into a pair of jeans that I bought a year ago & could never wear!
berniec 166 Posted May 12, 2012 It sounds like your not chewing enough. As far as the bowel movement you might need more Water or liquids. Good luck. Monday I will be three weeks post op. So at I am doing great. I haven't had any food or drink issues. I know I'm not getting all of my liquids and Protein in but I'm trying very hard.
kmiller 146 Posted May 12, 2012 Me either Berniece. Can't seem to get it all in, just doing the best I canl. I wish I had Constipation issues. Boy howdy! When I have to go it's right now and get out of the way. Mosdtly Water ( not to be indelicate) it makes it a little hard to get things accomplished.
LadyLocutus 41 Posted May 12, 2012 I am kinda in the same boat as you. I had not even a quarter of an egg white omelette yesterday with just cheese and a little bit of ham. I chewed it super well but I got that knot also. I have heard this from others as well and that does get better. As for liquids are you drinking 30 min before or after the food because I was told this causes issues. I think it's just getting to know our new stomachs.
