Hello yes it's me strange huh! I started this diet require by my surgeon 28 days 2 shakes owe day 2 Snacks & tiny meat if any kind & 1 cup veggies Antoine except corn.

I did it the first week lost 10 pounds. I'm weighting my self every Friday but I was so curious to know if I lost anything before official weight on Friday. Holly s* I gain weight!! I wanted to throw the scale out the window. I have a bad temper but I have patients with my kids strange huh!

If you don't see me around for a while don't worry I'm fine. I have to work really hard. I see my surgeon 5/23/2012 to make sure everything is good before 5/30/2012 which is surgery day.

I'm sad & I love this site & I don't wanna be mean & respond in a nasty way so until I don't lose weight again I'm not coming back for a while.

Ten pounds in one week, that's amazing! Really unbelievable! Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged.

I was reading your post on the diet youre on and i have a little advice:

You might want to try a different Protein shake other thank Slimfast. They are really high in carbs. My surgeon was not happy wih me when I told him I was using them the first two days of my liquid diet.

If you're buying them at grocery store or Walmart or something you're better off buying Atkins (my mom tells me they taste good) or even EASadvantage. Theyre cheap and they have really low carbs and pretty good Protein. They're not very filling though.

Also, try to stay with green veggies, they usually have less carbs.

Your right! I'm glad you responded to me. I'm feeling back to normal. I'm going to try the Atkins I bought some for the liquid diet after surgery but I'm not hard headed & I listen to advice so I'm going to try Atkins. It's 190 calories compare to slim fast but it's Kirkland from costco version 290 calories. I still have a case left. What should I do with the case that's left?

i'm really new-but in all the posts i see where you have commented, they are such inspiring, honest and helpful comments. let us inspire and encourage you back. don't lose hope, don't run from yourself or get angry with yourself/body. sometimes you just need to tweak things to get a jump start. we are not made perfect, and who wants perfect anyways?

i have an idea: take a little break from the stress of scale watching and focus on your heart and mind-then after a pre-set amount of days, pump yourself up for a "day at a time" goal. message me if you need to talk-i'm a good listener! :] YOU GOT THIS!!!!!

Thank you :) I'm going to lay off the scale for this week. I'll check next week & that's it. If the scale moves up & not down. I'm going to forget the scale. Exercise & continue my diet & just wait fur surgery. I gain what I lost 8lbs so if I was to go over 211lbs where I started then I would really be running in the park Lolz.. Don't want to be deny for surgery once I made it this far.

I'm glad you looking at a different shake. Slimfast just doesn't have enough Protein to tide you over. You body prolly thinks it's starving. Plus, remember the 2nd week is always harder

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
