I am 1 month post op.....and I was sore for about a week. It wasn't pain just really sore and I could just feel my insides loose or just not settled yet(for lack of a better way to describe it). I didn't do anything but walk, sip fluids, and rest....over and over for three weeks. I just wanted to be extra safe. Getting in and out of bed was tricky....I used my nightstand and turned it to where I could push myself up with ease. It really helped and in about four days post op I didn't need it anymore. Good luck!

I had my surgery Tuesday. I only feel sore too especially my belly button where he cut it because he fixed my hernia too. I have been sleeping on my couch because it's too hard to get in the bed. Good luck to all!!!

Leonor - maybe you're overdoing it. I know my post may seem lazy, but the most important thing after surgery is rest. This is my 5th major surgery (including 2 for cancer) and I tried to do too much at first too & paid for it. This is your time. I haven't been outta the house except the back yard. I sleep when I'm tired. My pain is pretty much gone, even when I get out of bed. Off my soapbox now. Just take care of yourself. Most important!

Thank you. I feel like I am resting too much. But I know I need too. So hopefully I will feel better soon.

I only had pain for 3 days. Everyone is different. Listen to your body and talk with your dr.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
