Jen in SoCal 189 Posted May 5, 2012 Ok, so I read so many encouraging threads about folks not even needing pain meds after surgery. I'm going on 6 days postop and still taking my pain meds. Walking is painless for me but getting in and out if bed is absolutely excruciating. I'm trying not to be a sissy and cut back my dose or skip it all together but thats no bueno! I'm not exactly new to surgery. I've had three csections and had my gall bladder removed so I knew what kind if pain to expect. I'm just getting so frustrated. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks guys:-)
berniec 166 Posted May 5, 2012 Your probably real sore. I used a ice pack sometimes. If that didn't help I would take Tylenol.after like two days I wasn't in much pain anyway. Good luck!
TinyMamiOf3kids 1,280 Posted May 5, 2012 I also had 3 c-sections. I only take pain meds when needed which was about 1 week. Idk if gastric bypass will be the same but looking forward to a speedy recovery. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Everyone is different. Example: you have a headache & can deal with it. If I have one I'm grabbing the advil for Migraine. We all heal differently & tolerate pain in a different way. As long as your not over dozing you should be fine.
