musicalwonder 34 Posted May 4, 2012 So my insurance is approved, classes completed and at my last dietician appt she said if everything still looks good she's talking to the surgeon and I should be setting up the surgery. I'm hoping July. Any tips out there? My job knows and I'm guessing two weeks off? Lots of Water I know. How soon can I go to the gym/be active after? Thanks everyone

musicalwonder 34 Posted May 5, 2012 Thanks for the info. How did you feel post op? I've also got a LOT to lose. I'm at 366 and can't wait for surgery. I've changed my eating habits, exercise and have lost 1.5 lbs so it's so discouraging. Dietician says pcos can cause me to not lose weight and in the back of my head I wonder if I'll lose after surgery. Sorry if I'm rambling but after reading the posts on here, especially yours, I feel like I can express myself more here than with the groups @ my bariatric center..and I've been dying to know (if anyone wouldn't mind answering) how long after until I can have sex? And about sex I think we waited about a week but I didn't do any of the work lol!! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
felloff17 10 Posted May 5, 2012 Congrats on the approval! I was out of work less than two weeks (I have an office job). I felt normal after surgery, just a little weaker than normal. I'm four weeks out and just played a softball double header. Everyone is obviously different but just wanted to share my story. Not too shabby! 32lbs lost in the first month
jemjem 2 Posted May 5, 2012 I had in total about 4 weeks of work, ul need it. I work with children n I didn't do any lifting etc till at least 6 weeks when I saw my surgeon n got all clear to do so.. TinyMamiOf3kids 1,280 Posted May 5, 2012 I'm so glad you ask the sex question it was on my mind LMFAO. 1 week is nothing I guess since my poor hubby is lucky to get it now twice a month. I know I'm such a cold fish Lolz... I'm just so insecure about my big body that I rather not be touched. Hope it all goes well for you

I have another question...but it's a dirty one and I don't know if I'll get booted for asking so I'll try to make it sound....umm...general lol. So u can only sip a few ounces at a time. If I were with my fiancée and was in a swallowing situation....how would that work? Sorry for the tmi

Erin 25 Posted May 5, 2012 I know I can't wait for my 6 weeks to be up and I can start with weights for these arms! Lol. My doctor also said walking immediately was great, but absolutely nothing else till after 6 weeks! Its just not worth the medical complications that could occur. I'm an Emergency room RN and I have seen so many people come in after they pushed it and now the harm they have done is irreversible. Just walk......and good luck!
