I keep getting these pains in my stomach closer to my left side and it hurts like hell I'm just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this and if so did you find out what it was! I'm scared to death that I have a blockage or that my bowels are twisted! Any help would be appreciated!

I had the same and went in for a EGD and had scar tissue causing a slight blockage and they also found a peptic ulcer. I am on nexium and carrifiate and my doc dilated my opening to my stomach. I feel so much better. Still occasionally have pain but all in all better. I would contact my doctor. Hope this helps.

I had pain just like this and had surgery on 2-29-12 to fix a twisted bowel and Remove the scar tissue that formed. I was home the next day and back to regular activities in three weeks. Back to normal food in two weeks. I know it is scary I was throwing up for two months with it. My doctor did upper GIs and scopes to check just about every week before they found it. Hope you feel better soon and they find what is going on.

Yep much better dr said it was probably muscle pain from working out a lot and I also went to the NASCAR race the day before the pain started happening so I truly believe that it was muscle pain!

Hey I was searching for stomach pain and saw your post and was wondering you the pain you were feeling went away when you ate? That has been happening to me and I don't know what it is.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
