Disapointed And Fustrated

Recommended Posts

So here goes I'm about 2 months out I've lost 46 lbs (21 of it before surgery) so that's only about 25lbs since surgery. I can't seem to really eat anything. I've tried a million different protien shakes and all of them make me sick. I can't stand the taste of tuna or cottage cheese anymore it now makes me sick I know I'm only

Getting a very low amount of protien in I started back to work and am working alot so no time for exercise by the time I get home clean and make my husband dinner it's time for bed. I just don't know what to do :( I'm getting so depressed not sure what to do with myself anymore I am thankful for the weight I've lost so far but am

Regretting gettin the surgery now everything I eat I throw back up except for yogurt. I feel like I'm bulimic. I just wanna scream!!!!

You should talk to your doctor & make sure everything is fine inside your body. In rare cases I heard of ppl have issues after surgery. I heard others take more time to get used to the new changes.

Ok so this happens in the beginning the first 6 mths post op are the hardest believe me i had the sugery 8 years ago on the 20th on this mth. I was 270 the day i had it and know weigh 147. In 2008 i had my second child and was so worried about gaining to much but i gained 38 and lost it within 1 year or so. Ifound that denty more beef stew was my saving grace it has a fair amt or Protein. Dont drink anything while u eat this will give u that stuck feeling and cause vomiting. Also make sure you chew very well and eat slow esp chicken which i still have a problem with if i mix it with any type of bread. First start with not worry about ur protein consumption and concentrate on what food ur body will accept that will not cause u to become sick. Protein is very important but so is keeping the food down. Jackie

I am so sorry to hear this. I agree go to the doctor! You may have a healing issue or you may just be adding food too soon. My doctor was very conservative on the food schedule and at four weeks post op was when I finally started with mushy foods. I have never had a problem, at eight months out I am only 85 lbs down but have minimal loose skin. Don't expect it to simply melt off. We have to learn to work it off.

Check with your doc and I wish you much success!

Definitely talk to your doctor. There are lots of options for getting your Protein where it needs to be and your doctor can help you with the depression as well. Now might be the perfect time to explore some of those life-style changes that you probably heard about pre-op but may not have experimented with yet. For example, after living for years on more fast food than I care to think about, my wife and I now prepare all kinds of healthy foods in large batches on the weekends, and then freeze them for meals during the week. "Making dinner" consists of taking things out of the freezer and heating it up. We have a vacuum sealer for for freezing veggies, turkey, chicken and fish of all kinds. We buy the plastic food storage containers from the store (tons of the 1 and 2 cup sizes) and then make things like turkey chili, turkey shepherd's pie, vegetable lasagna, shrimp, Soups, etc. We then divide the big batches up into individual servings and freeze them. We even bought a new freezer and put it in the garage for more storage space. Breakfast, lunch or dinner is a 10 minute process (and hubby can do his own). At eight weeks post-op you may not be able to eat some of these things but again - talk to your doctor. There are always options. Perseverance, along with absolute belief, can never be defeated!!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
