84 pounds since the start of this journey! I am happy with my progress so far even though it has slowed down to 1 pound a week for the last few weeks. I was getting bummed out but I realized that each week is another pound gone for good! As long as I keep moving in the right direction I am happy. I have PCOS and I think it's definately impacting how slow the weight is coming off. Have a good week everyone!

I started losing 4-5 pounds per week. Yes I have a nutritionist regular doctor and surgeon. I'm trying to stabilize my weight but let's see. I'm gonna get Vitamin shake Thursday.

I'm not posting my weight since I went down to 118 I'm trying to stay off the scale. Lets see if the shake helps after a week.

The weight lost is fantastic but being a doggy bone isn't cute. Right now I feel great. I'm doing all I can to eat healthy don't count too much calories & drink fluids all day to stay hydrated. I been good cuz the dizzy feeling is gone now so I'm doing something right.

Surgery date: April 23, 2012

Surgery weight: 297

Current weight: 195

I have lost 102 pounds. Never in my life have I lost this much weight. I have tried everything. This surgery is the best decision I have ever made. My weight loss has really slowed down. I was upset at first but when I thought about I had to stop looking at the numbers. My doctors goal for me is 180. I'm not that far away. I'm off of blood pressure meds, asthma meds and my cpap machine. I can't believe it. Also I went from wearing a size 24 bottoms to a size 14. Tops a size 3X to a large. So I won't give up now because I've come to far. If I don't get to 180 I will still be happy. I will focus on just keeping it off. It's been over 20 years since I've been under 200 pounds. I am so happy!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
