I have been out to see the dietician at thevsurgeon's office and she has looked over my diaries, and said it was all perfect. I exercise tons. I have lost 77 lbs since May. I'm not dropping at warp speed anymore, but the dietician said I will loose, but at a slower rate now, because this fat has been with me for many years. It's just discouraging when you yo-yo for a month.

A month and a half would be frustrating! Just keep doing what u r doing, it will come off eventually:) sometimes it works to change up your diet for a couple of days, maybe add a few extra calories and change the makeup of the calories (more good fat or + or - protein). Another thing that helped me during my last stall was to work out harder than I thought possible for longer than I thought possible one day (i had a physical fitness assessment for work so I had to do well). I hurt all over the next day, but I lost 4 pounds and broke my stall! Another thing, are your bm's regular? Gross, I know, but I have not lost anything this last 1.5 weeks becuz I haven't had a bm. Miralax works pretty well, but it takes a few days. Just trying to think of anything that could help.

You might want to try to look under one of the other forums...there is a nutrition forum. I followed a south beach/Atkins type of plan. High protien, low carb. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
