She just had her surgery yesterday! This helps my sugar is never really high but I don't want no problems on surgery day thanks
dlh278 3 Posted April 18, 2012 I was on 2000mg Metformin before surgery. On my surgery day (March 12), my number jumped from 120s to low 300s. It took a few weeks to drop back to prediabetes numbers. Today was my first <100 in a long time (without meds since April 1st). Expect a large spike from the surgery, but the hospital staff will be nice enough to monitor you blood sugar frequently while in the hospital (and they will not be shy about waking you up every 3-4 hours to do it). dlh278 3 Posted April 19, 2012 My surgeon ever said a specific number, but just said if it was "too" high... Your surgeon will be able to give you the safe/ unsafe range that he/she is comfortable with
